Nikon has been making great cameras for decades, and with the creation of the Z Series, it looked to me as if Nikon was finally taking mirrorless seriously. So far, they have produce some great products in this series. Recently, they introduced something new that I was particularly excited about when I first heard of it: the Nikon Z5. Why would I be excited for something that Nikon technically calls its “entry level” full frame camera? Zeiss ZX1 Digital Camera Pre-Order Available:
For those interested, the Zeiss ZX1 digital camera is finally available for pre-order. Here’s a little of the background: the ZX1 is a full frame camera with built-in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, which allows the user to do in-camera editing via a large touch screen display. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB Type-C port, you can share the photos immediately. The price for all of this? a whopping $6,000. Just to compare, a Leica Q2 is $4,995, and a Sony RX1R II is $3,298. Here’s some info on the lens:
- Available in Fujifilm X, Canon EF, Canon RF, Micro Four Thirds, Nikon F, Nikon Z, Pentax K, and Sony E mounts.
- The lens provides a clear sweet spot of sharp focus that is surrounded by a smooth blur, which can be adjusted depending on the position of the lens body.
- The accordion-like design allows for nearly unrestricted tilt range up to 30° in any direction, and requires the distinct squeeze-to-focus movement to manually adjust focus.
- The Spark 2.0 and Sweet 50 combination have a adjustable aperture range of f/2.5-22.
- 12-blade diaphragm.
- Minimum focusing distance of 1.1′.

Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Review Leica L Mount:
The 35mm lens is one of the most popular focal lengths with good reason. It’s great for many types of photography from street work, landscape to environmental portraiture. I have to admit, the 35mm isn’t my favorite focal length but I can not deny its extreme versatility.
