Fuji X-T1 Review Coming Soon:

I have to say, I had a great week.  A family friend from Hong Kong came to New York for a visit, and talk about a person who has been bitten by the photo bug lol.  He brought along his OM-D E-M5, a GH3 with an IR conversion done to it, and an A7R.  My brother in-law stopped by as well, and when we laid out all of our gear on the table, there were two OM-D’s, one GH3, an A7R, my M 240, the Fuji X-T1 I was testing, and a whole bunch of lenses.  In some ways, it felt like we were at a classic car show event :).

My friend took photos of everything, and it turns out he does the same thing in Hong Kong.  It wasn’t just inspiring to see a person that loves photography so much, it was also extremely contagious.  I’ve lived in New York all of my life, so there are definitely days when I feel like I’m shooting the same old thing.  Sometimes I lose a little inspiration but hanging out with him completely rejuvenated me photographically.  It also made me realize how much I enjoy shooting with someone who loves photography as much as I do.

I think when Finding Range gets bigger, I’m going to try holding a few photowalks around NYC (free, of course) because it was really fun to go out with someone like my friend who has such a passion for photography.  I’m usually either shooting alone or with a bunch of my friends who aren’t necessarily that into photography, although I still love them ;).  Thanks to this blog, I’ve met some really cool people all around the world who I keep in contact with on a regular basis.  It would definitely be cool to go out and take pics together.

Anyway, as I said before, I’ve been shooting with the new Fuji X-T1, and while I did encounter a couple of issues with it, overall, saying that I had an enjoyable experience with it is an understatement.  I’m working on my review this weekend, so expect it to come out very soon.  I hope all of you are doing well out there and shooting, especially since the weather seems to be getting better…at least in NYC.  Take care!

Leica Lenses and Cameras in Stock at Bergen County Camera:

Hey everyone.  Bob at Bergen County Camera was nice enough to lend me his 75 Summarit demo, so I’ll be reviewing it on my M 240, and writing up my experience with it on the Fuji system very soon.  So far, it’s been a surprisingly great piece of glass on both systems.  I will definitely miss it when I return it.

Speaking of Leica, if anyone is looking for Leica glass, Bob has one of everything in stock.  He even has a couple of silver M 240’s.  I don’t get anything from Bergen County Camera but I’ve definitely had a lot of great experiences shopping there over the years.

I know, I live in New York City, and can go to any other store here instead of going to NJ but it’s definitely a different experience going to BCC.  There’s no sales pressure, and there’s old school customer service that is hard to find these days.  Bob even takes my Leica stuff to Leica NJ if any of it needs repair.  How many stores will do that nowadays?  My whole family has been shopping there for 30 years!  You’ll never find better service, and if you’re paying Leica prices, you might as well go to the best, and get that personal service.  These guys are experts in anything Leica.

Another thing that is also worth mentioning is that he has some nice used Leica stuff as well.  If any of you are interested, give Bob a call at (201)-664-4113 or find him at bergencountycamera.com.  You can also check out BCC’s Leica Boutique page.  He ships anywhere.

Received My Fuji X-E2 Today: Review Coming Soon:

Hey everyone!  I hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season.  I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I was going to review the Fuji X-E2 but it took me a while…mainly because I wasn’t sure if I was going to buy it or borrow one.  I love my X-E1, and I am very happy with the results from it, so I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the extra money to buy a new body.  Well, I finally decided to buy it :).  It turns out that my good friend has been eyeing my X-E1 for a while, and offered to buy it from me, so it was pretty easy to sell it. Leica M Typ 240 in Stock at Bergen County Camera!:

If anyone is interested, Bergen County Camera has ONE Leica M Typ 240 in stock.  The Leica M in stock is a silver one, and if that’s the color you’ve been looking for or you have no preference, you can call Bob at (201)-664-4113.

I don’t get anything from BCC for posting this but they’ve done right by me so many times that I always like mentioning them.  My family and I have been shopping at BCC for 30 years because they really do offer one of a kind, old school service, which is a rarity, especially these days. They are more interested in establishing a long term relationship with their customers rather than just trying to sell you something that you don’t need.

Again, you can call Bob at (201)-664-4113 if you want the Leica M.  They also have a lot of Leica stuff in stock (they’ve been a Leica dealer for many years, and recently opened a Leica Boutique), so if you’re looking for a lens (at the time I bought my 18mm Super Elmar, they had so many different lenses in stock) or some accessories, they might have it in stock.  If you’re still not sure whether or not you want a new M 240, you can check out my Leica M Typ 240 review, which I continuously add to as time goes by.  A camera like this is not for everyone but for me, it’s a dream come true.  To me, it’s the best M camera that I’ve ever used.

P.S. On a side note, if Twitter or Facebook is not your thing, you can join me on my new Google+ account.  Take care!

Fuji X-E2 Announced!:

First things first; sorry for the lack of posts lately!  I really don’t like it when I have periods of inactivity from me on this site.  I’ve just been really swamped, and I’ve also been busy changing things in my apartment.  I’ll be posting a lot more soon, and I’m aiming to have some stuff for this weekend.  I think I just need a vacation, which is probably why I’ve been fishing more than I should be.  Well, at least in a couple of weeks, I’ll be going to Disney.  I’ll be sure to post some stuff since I’m most likely bringing my X-E1 with me.  I’ll definitely post some stuff before I leave for my trip as well.  Now, onto the announcement of the new Fuji X-E2.
