Classic Cases Leica M Typ 240 Case Review:
There are plenty of accessories for Leica cameras, and a popular one is the good old fashioned leather half case. A half case is not only visually appealing to many, it also serves as protection for a pricey investment like a Leica. Manufacturers like Artisan & Artist, Gariz, and Luigi, just to name a few, all make half cases. Another manufacturer that produces half cases is Classic Cases from England. Paul Glendell, who is an award-winning photographer himself, is the person behind this company, and he designs many different cases for several Leica models. The one in this review is the leather half case designed for the M Typ 240. [continue reading…]
New York Auto Show 2016 Pt. 1: Olympus Pen-F Examples:
Today, I have some images for you from the 2016 New York International Auto Show. I usually try to make it every year. In addition to photography, I definitely have a love for cars, and it’s always great to see what’s new out there. Plus, the lighting is usually pretty nice in there obviously to help the paint on the cars look incredible, so I usually bring my camera along with me as well. This year, I brought along the Olympus Pen-F, which I am currently reviewing. [continue reading…]
Fuji X-Pro2 High ISO Samples: NY Transit Museum:
I am actually working on a few other reviews but I thought since I have some images left over from my review of the Fuji X-Pro2, I would post them up instead of wasting them. These are images that I took from my trip to the NY Transit Museum and they are actually good examples of the high ISO capabilities of the X-Pro2. This is a very cool museum, and unlike many of the others around New York City, this one isn’t always that crowded, so it can be a lot more relaxing ;). According to their website, it is actually the largest museum in the United States devoted to urban public transportation history. [continue reading…]
Fuji X-Pro2 Review:
The Fuji X-Pro1 was a special camera because of several reasons. First, it played a huge role in starting a brand new interchangeable lens system that in a relatively short amount of time, has grown into one that is prominent, and one that has helped Fuji firmly establish a place in the mirrorless world. It was also the answer for many people who were looking for a rangefinder styled camera that performed superbly but also was decently priced. However, a lot has changed in 4 or 5 years. While the X-Pro1 is still a great camera, it has started lagging in some key areas. Seeing this, Fuji finally released its successor, the Fuji X-Pro2 (B&H Photo/Amazon). The specs look pretty good on paper, and it seems that Fuji has fulfilled a lot of the wishes and demands that users of the X-Pro1 have been asking for. But its rivals are even more competitive nowadays, so are the modifications and improvements made to the X-Pro2 enough to keep it competitive in the market? Read on and find out! [continue reading…]
Olympus Pen-F and Various Other Gear Up Soon:
I’m working on my Fuji X-Pro2 review now, and it should be out soon. It’s such a wonderful camera and there’s just so much to say about it. Of course, nothing is perfect, so there are some issues but overall, now that I’ve returned it, I really miss it. Anyway, I just got a knock on the door from my local UPS delivery woman, and I got some REALLY cool stuff that I thought I’d share with all of you real quick. For one, I just received the new Olympus Pen-F in the mail, and while I’ve done a couple of Fuji vs. Olympus comparisons, this will be my first Olympus product that I review. I’m really excited about this. As I mentioned in the past few months, I have plans of expanding this site and including various other manufacturers’ products, and I think the Pen-F is a perfect way to start. It also doesn’t hurt that the Pen-F feels and looks awesome! [continue reading…]
