Asbury Park New Jersey With The Fuji X-Pro2:
As some of you know, I’ve been shooting with the Fuji X-Pro2, and for the most part, it’s been great. I’m almost done with it, and I’ll be posting my review up soon but I thought I’d share some photos from my recent excursion. I feel like I’ve hit a road block recently; I love New York, and I’ve lived here all my life but I feel like I’m taking the same old pictures. I feel like I need to see something new. I think every photographer feels this way once in a while. Sometimes a person needs new inspiration so yesterday, I decided to drive down to Asbury Park in New Jersey. [continue reading…]
Domke F-803 Camera Satchel Bag Review:
Most of the bags I’ve reviewed on this site have been made by Billingham. I can’t help it, I’m a big fan; I use a lot of the bags myself because they simply last forever. But as we know, Billingham isn’t the only manufacturer that makes good bags, so I thought this time, I would review an old classic, the Domke F-803. Like many of the Billingham bags, the F-803 has been around for ages, and since not much of it has changed over the years, is the F-803 still relevant considering how much in photography and photographic gear actually has changed? I was definitely curious, and here is what I concluded from my time with this bag. [continue reading…]
Trying Out The Fuji X-Pro2 Downtown Manhattan:
It’s been a busy week, so that’s the reason why I haven’t posted much. I thought I’d put up some photos I took today (actually since it’s already so late, I guess it was yesterday) with the Fuji X-Pro2. The X-Pro2 is the next camera that I am reviewing, and so far, it’s been pretty awesome to say the least. I know, not much of a surprise to hear considering I’m a fan of the system ;). Seriously though, the file quality is excellent. Files are crisp and vivid. I am really liking what I’m seeing. As of now, I am holding out for the X-T2 but I’m getting more and more tempted to trade in my X-T1 for it. [continue reading…]
Fuji XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS Lens Review:
Over the years, I’ve grown to enjoy the use of ultra wide angle lenses so much so that I often use my 18mm as an everyday lens. I like the way ultra wides perceive the world. Plus, there’s just so much going on all the time in New York City (often in cramped spaces) that a wide angle can be considered mandatory at times. There are quite a few options if you want an ultra wide for the Fuji X Series, and one of these options is the XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS lens (B&H Photo/Amazon). In 35mm terms, this lens equates to a whopping 15 to 35mm equivalent. This is an older lens but seeing as the Fuji X-Pro2 is being released, I thought it would be a great time to review it. $100 Off Fuji X-Pro2 and XF 35mm F2 Kit at B&H Photo:
Thinking about the X-Pro2 and the XF 35mm F2? Here’s a great deal: for those who are interested, you can purchase the Fuji X-Pro2 with the XF 35mm F2 Kit for $100 off at B&H Photo. As most of you know, the X-Pro2 is Fuji’s latest and greatest. It has the works: hybrid viewfinder, weather sealing, and the new 24 megapixel X-Trans CMOS III sensor just to name a few. As for the XF 35mm F2, it is one of the best X Series lenses to date. It’s compact size, weather sealing, and quiet and fast autofocus make it a perfect match for the X-Pro2. Check out my review of it. I also did a comparison test between the XF 35mm F2 and the XF 35mm F1.4.
For those not interested in the kit, the X-Pro2 and the XF 35mm F2 can be ordered separately, of course.
PLUS WPPI 2016 Specials:
