Fujifilm X-T3 and XF 56mm f1.2 APD: Portraits Around Soho
I’m finally getting in more shoot time with the new Fuji X-T3. Last weekend, I had a morning shoot scheduled with someone to further test the new camera. Even though the person in these photos was quite busy with midterms, she was nice enough to come out for a short shoot. We basically walked around the Soho area in Manhattan. I used to hang around Soho quite a lot but it’s always so busy these days that I try to avoid it :). But this was early Sunday morning, and other than a few dog walkers, and a few photographers, we pretty much had this area to ourselves. It was a nice day too; overcast skies, and a little chill in the air. [continue reading…]

Exploring the Lower East Side With a Friend And the 50mm Summilux-SL:
I’ve been pre-occupied for the past couple of months, which is why recently, I haven’t posted as much as I would like or should. I’ve been shooting a lot; I’ve had something scheduled every week, and I’m also paying for it because I’m finding myself stuck with tons of photos to process :). I’ve been using the Leica SL more and more. It really has become an indispensable part of my kit. But I’ve also been reviewing a few items one being the 28mm Summaron-M. I’m also reviewing a 7artisans Fisheye for the Fuji X Series system, which has been a lot fun to use. It’s actually the last lens that I will be reviewing on my X-T2 because I pre-ordered the new Fuji X-T3, which you can be sure I will be reviewing in detail. So, I have a lot coming up but in the meantime, I thought I’d share some photos from a recent shoot while walking around the Lower East Side of Manhattan. [continue reading…]
Session With The Leica APO 90mm Summicron-SL and Michelle:
I had a few people who know I’ve owned the Leica SL for quite some time ask me, over the past few months, if I shoot it a lot. The answer is that I do. In fact, over the last 6 or 7 months, I’m grabbing the SL 9 times out of 10 when I’m out shooting. It’s funny because being a diehard M user, I didn’t think the SL was my cup of tea when it first came out but I find it indispensable, and it really fits the way that I shoot. Plus, the image quality is incredible, which never hurts :). I’ve recently posted my APO 90mm Summicron-SL ASPH review, which is my largest lens review so far, and over the coming months, you’ll see more and more from the SL here. [continue reading…]
Leica CL: A Few Out of Camera BW Jpegs:
Hey everyone, so I think my next Leica CL post will be the review but I was just messing around with the settings the other day, and decided to try the high contrast black and white jpeg mode. I don’t normally shoot jpegs as I prefer RAW files but for fun, I decided to try it out. It turns out that I like this setting a lot; I can see myself using this setting for when I don’t have time to do much processing. [continue reading…]
Leica CL: Early Morning Walk on The High Line:
I woke up early this morning to go down to Chelsea to meet a friend for breakfast. I brought along the Leica CL I’ve been reviewing. Size wise, it is absolutely the perfect camera to carry along when you’re not out purely just for photography. I had the 18mm Elmarit-TL attached. I’m not a fan of the 28mm focal length, which this little lens essentially equates to in 35mm terms but nevertheless, it’s been a great little lens to carry along. It’s sharp, compact, and focuses very fast. It’s actually been mounted on the CL more than any other lens so far. [continue reading…]
